SHH3 RUN 1931

On-On Hashers! Gather round for the first blast of 2026 and the very first hash of the year. Run 1931 is coming at you on 4 January 2026, and it’s a post-festive return to the pavement with a yeast-raiser attitude.

Welcome, hashers, to today’s Hash House Harriers run! Our two fearless hares, Flaccid Bamboo and One Inch Pistolita, have stitched together a course that hops from wide avenues to narrow alleyways—urban adventure, with a side of decoys, chalk marks, and likely more questionable navigation than your GPS would admit.

What’s on the trail:

  • Avenues and alleyways: Expect a city-slick mix of street scuffs, park cuts, and perhaps a few sneaky shortcuts that only a drunken compass could love. Pace yourself; the route is designed for all walkers and runners to stay in the hunt.
  • Checks, hints, and hijinks: You’ll chase marks, solve the occasional puzzle, and enjoy the camaraderie that comes from strangers becoming teammates under a flour-dusted sky.
  • The circle and song: After the final flurry, we’ll gather for a quick circle to celebrate everyone’s efforts, share a few tall tales, and raise a toast to the hare(s) and the hash.
  • Post-run social: Our on-after is where the real business happens—Great Hunan Food, drinks, and plenty of stories to trade about the route and the hare-hilarious hijinks.

Birthday twist:

  • It’s Flaccid Bamboo’s birthday run! He’ll be wearing… well, we’ll leave the birthday suit to your imagination. The birthday energy will be there in spirit, plus cake and questionable dancing at the circle—because nothing says “birthday” like a bunch of hashers singing off-key to a goofy song.

Etiquette and tips (keep it hashy and humane):

  • Dress for the weather and wear comfy shoes. Bring water and a towel if you’ll appreciate it.
  • Look out for others; go at a pace that includes newcomers and slow–moderate hashers. The aim is fun, not martyrdom.
  • Hydrate, hydrate, hydrate. Save the celebrations for the circle and on-after.
  • Respect the neighbourhood and leave no trace. If you drop something, picasso it back where you found it.

On-on and happy birthday to Flaccid Bamboo!
