On Sunday, April 19th, while the “serious” athletes and liver-punishers of the Shanghai Hash House Harriers have abandoned us for the glitz, glamour, and inevitable bad decisions of the Yangtze River Delta Nash Hash in Wuxi, the skeletal remains of the pack will be haunting the streets for Run Number 1946: The Ghost Town Run.
With most of our usual suspects away trying to remember which delta they’re currently in, Shanghai will be feeling a bit like a Marie Celeste with more Lycra and significantly more beer. Expect tumbleweeds, an eerie lack of “On-On” echoes, and a pack so small we might actually have to look at each other while we drink. Whether you’re a local ghost who couldn’t get a hall pass for Wuxi or just a lost soul looking for a trail that doesn’t involve a three-hour bus ride, join us as we rattle our chains and empty our cups in a city that’s never felt so empty—at least until the Down-Downs begin!

Etiquette and tips (keep it hashy and humane):
- Dress for the weather and wear comfy shoes. Bring water and a towel if you’ll appreciate it.
- Look out for others; go at a pace that includes newcomers and slow–moderate hashers. The aim is fun, not martyrdom.
- Hydrate, hydrate, hydrate. Save the celebrations for the circle and on-after.
- Respect the neighbourhood and leave no trace. If you drop something, picasso it back where you found it.
